Add Top-Level Group

Groups and subgroups are useful in meeting your organization’s objectives for the inventory system.  Spend some time designing your organizational tree such that it will assist in reporting, tracking and assigning responsibility to items within the inventory.

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Modify Users and Groups.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Users/Groups from the menu on the left side of the home screen.
  4. Click New under the Group Information box.*
  5. Enter Group Tag if auto-generate is disabled for groups. (link to Tag/ID Mask Setup).
  6. Enter Group Name.**
  7. Click Save.

*Do not highlight an existing group in the tree prior to clicking New.  If an existing group is selected, click All Users to ensure the new group is a first-level group.

**Point of Contact is optional.  It can be entered if users are established in the system.

The new group will populate in the Group Tree and the message Data Saved will appear below the group information box.
