Catalog Search
The search, query tool and structure search functions may be used to find specific catalog entries.
Search Tab
- Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Modify Chemical Catalog.
- Choose the appropriate Module.
- Click Catalog from the menu on the left side of the home screen.
- Click Edit.
- From the Search tab, an inventory catalog search can be conducted utilizing one or a combination of values.
- Stock number is a catalog number plus size or unit information or the number assigned by a supplier that is different from the manufacturer’s catalog number.
- Manufacturer is the entity which created and packaged the item.
- Supplier is the entity which sold the item. This value may be different from the manufacturer.
- Chemical Name can be searched using the parameters Is, Contains, Starts With, or Ends With. Searching by name using the Synonym parameter will return the inventoried items matching the synonym if the chemical name listed in the database is different. Synonym information may not be complete within the database.
- Active status can be searched using the parameters All, Yes, or No.
- Catalog Number is the base product ID without size or unit information that is designated by the manufacturer.
- CAS# is a unique number assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service.
- SDS parameters include Is Attached and Is Missing
- Enter the desired search parameters.
- Click Search. Matching catalog items will populate below the search box.
- Click Clear to delete all criteria.

Query Tool Tab
- Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Modify Chemical Catalog.
- Choose the appropriate Module.
- Click Catalog from the menu on the left side of the home screen.
- Click Edit.
- Select the Query Tool tab.
- Select the desired Field, Condition and Value parameters.
- Click Add. Multiple parameters can be defined and added to the search criteria.
- Individual parameters may be modified by selecting new Conditions and/or Values for a field followed by clicking the blue Select text then clicking Update.
- Individual parameters may be deleted by clicking the blue Select text in the first column followed by clicking Delete.
- Click Clear to delete all defined criteria.
- Once all search parameters have been defined, click Search. Matching catalog items will populate in the Search tab.


Structure Search Tab
- Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Modify Chemical Catalog.
- Choose the appropriate Module.
- Click Catalog from the menu on the left side of the home screen.
- Click Edit.
- Select the Structure Search tab.
- Structures or substructures may be loaded from files or drawn using the Ketcher software pop-up. Help files are accessed by clicking the Question Mark button.
- Ketcher settings are accessed by clicking the Cog
button.
- To search for the Exact structure or Substructure click the corresponding check box.
- Click Search.
- Matching catalog items will populate in the Search tab.
