Retrieve Installation Files

The VIM Handheld Software files are located on the support page for the module. The process below highlights the installation for the Chemical module. The process is identical for the General module.

1. Log in with a valid user name and password.
2. Choose the appropriate Module.
3. Click Support from the menu on the left side of the home screen.
4. Click Download.
5. Save the file.
   • Choose a save location that is easy to find.
6. Locate the saved file, click to select. Click Extract all.
7. Choose an extraction location that is easy to find.
8. Click Extract.

Software Installation

1. Connect the scanner cradle to a desktop/laptop via USB cable.
2. Connect cradle to a power source.
3. On the computer, open Windows Explorer.
4. Select MC33 from the This PC area of the navigation pane on the left side of the window.
   • Note: initially the folder will be empty.
5. On the MC33 scanner, swipe up to unlock.
6. Swipe down from the top of the MC33 screen
7. Tap to select the USB charging this device notification.
8. Tap to select Transfer files.
   • Note: The MC33 device folder on the computer will show available storage.
9. In Windows Explorer, Navigate to the computer folder where the installation files were extracted and saved.
10. Copy the unzipped file named com.Vertere.VIMHandheld.apk.
11. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the Download folder within the MC33 device storage.
12. Paste the installation file.
13. On the MC33, swipe up to unlock.
14. Tap the caret (^) on the Home screen to open the App Drawer if the File Browser icon is not on the home screen.
15. Tap to open the File Browser app.
16. Tap to open the Download folder.
17. Tap com.Vertere.VIMHandheld.apk to install the program.
18. If prompted, tap Install.
19. If prompted, confirm Allow Access.
20. Successful installation will result in a VIM icon appearing in the scanner App Drawer.
