Waste Container Types

Waste container types can be customized based on waste type, expected contents, and volume. When container types are pre-defined within the system, it allows end users to easily choose the appropriate container for their needs. Standardization reduces “ad-hoc” container creation and streamlines the process for creating new containers.

Add Waste Container Type

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Container Types.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Container Types.
  6. Click Add Container Type.
  1. Enter container information.
    • Fields may be set to required or optional. Custom Labels
    • Required fields will be designated with a red asterisk.
  2. Click Add.

Search/Sort Waste Container Types

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Container Types.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Container Types.
  6. To Search: Enter search criteria.
  7. Click Search Container Types.
  8. To Sort: Click the up/down arrow to sort by a column heading.
    • The up/down arrow will transform to an up (ascending) or down (descending) arrow to indicate the sort column and sort order.

Edit Waste Container Type

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Container Types.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Container Types.
  6. Select the container type to edit.
  1. Edit container information.
  2. Click Save Changes.

Delete Waste Container Type

Due to the level of records management in the inventory system, deletion of a waste container type may not be possible. A waste container type can only be deleted if it has not been used.

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Container Types.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Container Types.
  6. Click the trash can icon next to the container type to be deleted.
    • Pale red icons indicate container types in use and may not be deleted.
  7. Confirm deletion.
