Waste Profiles

Defining detailed waste profiles for each waste stream simplifies tracking and disposal. Waste profiles may contain hazard classifications, disposal instructions, regulatory data and expected contents. Automatic linking of waste profiles to waste containers ensures no step is missed in the tracking process.

Add Waste Profile

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Click Add Waste Profile.
  1. Enter Waste Profile Name.
  2. Select Waste Type.
  3. Click Save. The Waste Profile Details page will open.

Search, Sort, or Filter Waste Profiles

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. To Search: Enter search criteria.
  7. Click Search Waste Profiles.
  8. To Sort: Click the up/down arrow to sort by a column heading.
    • The up/down arrow will transform to an up (ascending) or down (descending) arrow to indicate the sort column and sort order.
  9. Click the Active and/or Inactive button filter the results grid.

Delete or Inactivate Waste Profile

Due to the level of records management in the inventory system, deletion of a waste profile may not be possible. A waste profile can only be deleted if it has not been used.

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Click the trash icon to delete the waste profile.
    • If the trash icon is grayed out, the waste profile is in use and may not be deleted.
  7. Click the slider in the Active column to inactivate/reactivate the waste profile.

Add Waste Content Options

If the waste stream for a profile is known, waste content options may be added to the waste profile.

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Select the Profile Name.
  1. Select the Waste Content Options tab.
  2. Enter the Product Name and CAS#.
  3. Click Add.
    • Repeat steps 7-9 for each item.

Edit, Delete or Export Waste Content Options

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Select the Profile Name.
  1. Select the Waste Content Options tab.
  2. Click the Edit icon to modify an item.
  3. Click the Trash icon to delete an item.
  4. Click the Excel icon to export the list of items.

Add Catalog Associations to Waste Profile

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles and Modify Chemical Catalog.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Catalog to expand the menu.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Search the catalog for the item to associate with the waste profile. Catalog Search
  6. Click the Edit icon next to the item.
  1. Select the Chemical Information Gateway tab.
  2. Click the Regulatory Data button.
    • If the regulatory data button is missing, it can be activated through the ChIM Access tab under settings. ChIM Access
  1. Select the Waste Profile tab.
  2. Choose the Default Waste Profile from the drop down list.
  3. Click Save.
    • Repeat steps 5-11 for all items.
  1. Linked catalog records will be available on the Catalog Association tab of the waste profile contents page.

Delete Catalog Associations from Waste Profile

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles and Modify Chemical Catalog.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Catalog to expand the menu.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Search the catalog for the item to remove from the waste profile. Catalog Search
  6. Click the Edit icon next to the item.
  1. Select the Chemical Information Gateway tab.
  2. Click the Regulatory Data button.
    • If the regulatory data button is missing, it can be activated through the ChIM Access tab under settings. ChIM Access
  1. Select the Waste Profile tab.
  2. Choose the blank value as the Default Waste Profile from the drop down list.
  3. Click Save.
    • Repeat steps 5-11 for all items.
  1. Linked catalog records will be removed from the Catalog Association tab of the waste profile contents page.

Add Regulatory Data to Waste Profile

Each container may be linked to a waste profile at creation. Regulatory data added to the waste profile is included in the waste report that is created when a container is added to a shipment. This example will illustrate the steps to add GHS data to a profile.

Available regulatory data sections are:

  • NFPA Data
  • GHS Data
  • P, U, K, F, and D Codes
  • Special Handling and Additional Information
  • DOT Section
  • Custom Section
  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Select the Profile Name.
  1. Select the Regulatory Data tab.
  2. Click Add Section.
  3. Select the section to add from the pop-up window.
  1. Enter the appropriate regulatory information.
  2. Click Save Regulatory Data.

Edit Waste Profile Regulatory Data

  1. Log in with a user name and password that has been granted access to Manage Waste Profiles.
  2. Choose the appropriate Module.
  3. Click Waste Management to expand the menu.
  4. Click Setup to open the sub-menu.
  5. Click Profiles.
  6. Select the Profile Name.
  1. To modify a section Edit the regulatory data.
  2. Click Save Regulatory Data.
  3. To delete a section, Click the trash icon .
  4. Confirm deletion.
